Watch the video version now.

Most people backslide after hitting a major goal.

Has this happened to you? After reaching a huge goal, you slowly start to slide backwards and lose the transformation you have gained?

Don’t worry, I am here today to teach you how to bulletproof your success and keep winning at life.

Now, think about the last time you hit a big goal in your life.

Imagine that rush that comes along with it. You know, you have that dopamine hit, and you want to celebrate the victory of what you've accomplished.

And you should.

You should be proud, excited, and feel like a Champion, because you are.

But….

What usually happens after reaching that peak, is a let off, where we lose focus a little bit, or maybe we let off the gas. All of a sudden we may find ourselves backsliding, and looking at that victory as a thing of the past.

This is frustrating guys.

You know, I've been there before my life where I've reached that huge goal. And then a few months later I began falling back to where I started.

I totally understand how discouraging that can be.

But what’s worse is that it can be the beginning of a yo-yo, where you keep going up and down, never really getting to where you want to go.

It can make you start to feel complacent, and you could even grow content with the fact that the yo-yo is just normal,...  that you’ll never really sustain success.

Have no fear. I’m going to teach you Living a Champion Life’s 3 steps on how to bulletproof your success and keep winning at life.

A huge example of what not to do comes from a TV show that was on in the early 2000’s. I can’t remember the name,... it was “The Largest Reducer” or something like that.

I'm sure you guys get the idea of the show that I’m talking about, but here is a brief summary of the program;

It was about weight loss.  Each contestant would have these huge weight loss goals, get a trainer to help them eat “right”, and exercise to lose the weight as fast as possible. Basically, the entire show was based on the number on the scale, and dramatic transformation.

Many people lost many pounds….BUT….

The hidden truth is; the vast majority of these contestants end up putting all of that weight back on, and then some, after the show ended.

That's a really sad thing because the show was setting people up to fail.

I know, from my 20+ years as a professional fitness & nutrition coach, that this is a common occurrence in the industry.

PRO TIP: If your Coach is not teaching you what to do after you reach your goal, they are failing you.

The people on this particular TV show may have learned some ways to eat and some ways to exercise.  But they were not educated on sustainable success of this new healthy lifestyle.

They were never presented with the knowledge of how to evolve in their journey, and how to make their transformation a permanent part of their life to move forward.

I know what you might say, “Wow, look how big of a change they did make though”. And I agree, they achieved a huge change, but what good is a transformation if you can't keep it?

What good is progress, if you don't learn the way to actually maintain it long term.

So here are Living a Champion Life’s 3 steps on how to bulletproof your success and keep winning at life:

1.) Reach down and help other people along their journey.

Take something that you've learned and give it away. Paying it forward is such a powerful tool to make sure that the progress you've made becomes a permanent part of you.

If we don't reach down after reaching a huge goal, we miss that chance to truly integrate what you’ve learned and make it part of who we are moving forward.

This could be as simple as sharing a testimonial or giving somebody a little encouragement who's starting where you started.

It can also go deeper…

I know as a lifelong soccer player, I was encouraged to coach the younger generation throughout my athletic career. In high school I coached the elementary kids. When I was in college I coached high school kids.  As an adult I coached my children and their teams.

And to be honest…

All of that coaching made me a better soccer player. Sure, I'm not as physically capable as maybe I was when I was 18, (duh) BUT… I definitely have had a constant growth of understanding the sport better, and I have integrated all of what I have learned into the rest of my life.

Think of ways that you could reach down and make what you have learned an integrated part of your sustained success.

2.) Reach out and connect with a community of people sustainably living the life you want to live.

Make sure that you're plugged in to a circle of accountability.  Join a club of peers that believe the same types of things that you do,  that are going to hold you accountable, and that are collectively keeping your momentum moving.

By reaching out you can develop support and avoid  falling off the wagon when the next shiny object comes along.  Because the truth is, there are lots of shiny objects. They're all around us, and we'll get baited into those if we don't get plugged into a strong community.

I know Coach Jesse and I, as business owners,  have several business communities that we belong to. These communities help us to stay in the game, stay motivated, and constantly grow.

We also belong to several parenting communities, fitness communities, and spiritual communities to keep us winning at life.

Think of a gym membership, or an online fitness group that you joined for accountability. It helps you to bulletproof your success because all members become a part of a bigger whole.

This keeps you focused and keeps you evolving.

3.) Reach up and choose a mentor, coach, or role model to push you further than you can push yourself.

Give permission to be coached by someone else who is doing what you want to do, better than you.

This Coach should be willing to put some pressure on you and to hold you accountable. Your Coach should continue to expect the best of you and give you some crap if you are not performing the way they know you can.

Make sure that your coach meets the requirements of a Champion role model.  They should have a history of setting goals just like yours, success at championing those goals, and they should still be in the game.

If a mentor meets all of these requirements and seems to be winning at life, accept their coaching, and absorb it.

Asking to be coached will require you to show some vulnerability. You must be willing to say, “Hey, you're better at this than I am, and I need some help”. And that can be a difficult pill to swallow.

BUT… it's so important.

I personally have several Coaches, Mentors, and Role models in my life, and it took some extreme vulnerability to ask for help, but Im so glad I did.

It’s powerful to have these people in my life, encouraging me to strive for constant growth and sustained success.
